In these documents, I went through all of the aspects that were important to note for this project. I highlighted certain key terms to refer back to later. I also made notes on those key aspects for example:

  • 2-Dimensional and 3-Dimensional

  • Traditional and alternative materials

  • Theme: own choice – link to ‘sacred narratives' and/or ‘censorship’: consider the religious, political, and social.

  • Medium: own choice - TEA??

  • Linked with the Albert Luthuli Leadership Institute

Some of my planning includes brainstorming different ideas that I wanted to work with and how I was going to be able to combine all of those ideas into a cohesive body of works. I continuously discussed these ideas with my lecturer Miss Human. She was able to guide me throughout this whole brainstorming process to be able to refine my ideas.

As you can see in the image above, I had a very broad idea of what I wanted to do. I made a lot of lists of ideas that I included in my workbook and visual diary. This planning session only contained one of the ideas that I had while on this brainstorming spree. when putting pen to paper, or letters to a screen, you are able to see what will work and what will not.

I think that I was able to convey my overall them throughout the whole project and to link my various artworks together. Every work is connected by an element of another.
